Loren Laverne Watts passed away May 16, 2017 at the Veterans Home in Warrensburg, Missouri.





He was born in Smith County Kansas January 17th, 1923 to John and Bertha Watts. Loren graduated from high school in 1942 and was inducted into the US Army in 1943. He landed on Omaha Beach and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Loren received the Victory Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and 2 Bronze Stars. He was honorably discharged March 1946.

In 1947, Loren married Ardis Jean Niles of Smith Center, Kansas. Shortly after, they moved to Kansas City, Missouri where Loren became a successful contractor. He was a devoted husband, and father who enjoyed working, camping, and fishing with his family.





Loren was preceded in death by son Rick Watts in 2013, and wife Ardis in 2015. He is survived by sons Dennis (Roxanne) Watts of Lake Lotawana, and Gary and Terry Watts. Grandchildren Cody Watts, Kyle Watts, Austin Watts, Joshua Watts, and Katarina (Spencer) Sprague, and 6 Great Grandchildren.





Loren will be laid to rest at Floral Hills Cemetery at Gregory and Blue Ridge Blvd. Graveside service, 2:30 P.M., Wednesday, May 17, 2017.
